Immersion Program 2025: MI MAS Students Experience International Learning in Malaysia

Malaysia – Students of MI Masjid Nasional Al-Akbar Surabaya took part in the Immersion Program 2025, an international educational visit aimed at providing students with real learning experiences in a global environment. The program was conducted through a school visit to IISM International Islamic School Malaysia, where students were able to observe classroom activities, interact with teachers and students, and experience a different academic atmosphere.

During the visit, students explored the school environment and participated in several educational activities. They observed how classes were conducted in an international school setting and had opportunities to communicate directly with students and teachers using English. The experience allowed students to practice their communication skills while gaining new perspectives about learning in a multicultural environment.

Teachers and representatives from IISM expressed their appreciation for the presence of MI MAS students. They highlighted that the students showed positive attitudes throughout the program. “We were truly honored to host the students and teachers of MI Masjid Al-Akbar Surabaya at IISM. It was a delightful experience seeing how engaged and respectful the students were throughout the visit,” said one of the school representatives.

According to the host school, the students demonstrated good behavior, strong curiosity, and a willingness to learn. They interacted positively with teachers and fellow students and adapted well to the international school environment.

“Our students were exceptionally well behaved, attentive, and polite. They interacted positively with our students and teachers and showed genuine eagerness to learn,” the representative added.

Beyond academic exposure, the immersion program also provided valuable cultural experiences. Students learned about different learning systems, built confidence in speaking English, and developed friendships with students from another country. Such experiences help students broaden their perspectives and understand the importance of global connections.

The visit also opened opportunities for future collaboration between the two schools. Possible programs include virtual classroom exchanges, joint student projects, and teacher training initiatives that could strengthen educational cooperation.

Through the Immersion Program 2025, MI Masjid Nasional Al-Akbar Surabaya continues to provide meaningful learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. The program not only enhances students’ academic exposure but also builds confidence, cultural awareness, and global perspectives that will benefit them in the future.
