Surabaya – MI Masjid Nasional Al-Akbar Surabaya organized an Educational Field Trip in October 2024 for Grade 1 and Grade 2 students, involving 9 classes with a total of 211 students. The activity aimed to provide students with direct learning experiences outside the classroom through observation, exploration, and educational games.
The field trip began with an opening session and welcoming remarks from the head of the madrasa before students departed for the educational locations.

The first destination was Museum Puspenerbal Juanda, where students received an introduction to the history and role of Indonesian naval aviation. Through the presentation, students learned about aircraft operations and the importance of aviation in national defense.

During the visit, students also conducted direct observations of aviation activities around the airport area. They observed aircraft traffic, the apron and runway, as well as the take-off and landing process of airplanes.

Students were also introduced to the role of Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) and learned how the ATC tower manages aircraft movement to ensure safe flights.

The visit continued with a tour of the Museum Penerbangan TNI AL R.E.B.O. Tjokroadiredjo, where students explored the aviation exhibition area and learned about the history of the Indonesian Naval Air Force.

The visit concluded with a stop at the Naval Aviation Monument, where students learned about important figures and achievements in Indonesian aviation history. After the museum activities, the students continued their trip to Rumah Pintar Juanda Cendekia. There, students had lunch together and performed the Dhuhr prayer in congregation at the mushola.
The educational activities continued with creative and recreational sessions, including drawing and coloring activities at the stage center, as well as educational games, animal-themed learning, and outbound activities.

Through this Educational Field Trip, MI Masjid Nasional Al-Akbar Surabaya hopes students can gain new knowledge, strengthen curiosity, and develop creativity while experiencing learning in a fun and interactive environment.
