Surabaya – MI Masjid Nasional Al-Akbar Surabaya held an Education and Parenting Seminar for the 2024–2025 academic year on March 28, 2024, located at the South Hall of Masjid Al-Akbar Surabaya. The activity was attended by parents of MI MAS students and aimed to strengthen collaboration between school and families in supporting children’s development.
The seminar carried the theme “Creating Smart and Noble Muslim Generations from a Medical Perspective.” Through this activity, parents were invited to understand children’s development from educational and medical perspectives, particularly in building character, emotional health, and moral values.

The first session discussed how to build intelligent and well-mannered Muslim generations, presented by Dr. H. Wigid Dwijatmoko, Sp.B. The speaker explained the importance of balanced development between intellectual ability, moral values, and physical health in children’s growth.

Another important topic discussed in the seminar was bullying prevention among elementary school students, delivered by dr. Nining Febriyana, Sp.KJ., Subsp. A.R(K). In this session, parents were encouraged to recognize early signs of bullying and learn how to guide children to build positive relationships with their peers.

At the same time, a student education seminar was conducted for Grade 4, 5, and 6 students with the theme “Recognizing, Understanding, and Finding Solutions During Puberty.” The session was presented by dr. Wisnu Laksamana, Sp.U, who explained the physical and emotional changes that occur during puberty and how students can respond to them in a healthy and responsible way.

Each seminar session also included a question-and-answer discussion, allowing parents and students to actively interact with the speakers and ask questions related to the topics discussed.
Through this Education and Parenting Seminar, MI Masjid Nasional Al-Akbar Surabaya continues to support students’ academic, emotional, and moral development while strengthening cooperation between the school and parents in shaping a generation that is intelligent, healthy, and has noble character (akhlaqul karimah).
